Barbeque Beef Recipe

Our Barbeque Beef Recipe is another great idea for the back yard BBQ … except you don’t have to grill! Goes great with the Baked Beans Recipe!Ingredients:- 4 pounds beef (chuck roast or swiss on shoulder)
- 2 large onions diced
- 2 cups celery sliced thin
- 1 Tablespoon bacon drippings
- 20 ounces catsup
- 1 cup water
- 2 ½ Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup burgundy (optional)
Cover meat with water in a large pot. Bring to a boil and cook (simmer) for 2 hours. (Save the broth! It makes a great soup stock.) Let meat cool and then shred with a fork, removing the fat and bone. Sauté onion and celery. Add meat and rest of ingredients. Cook for several hours (at least 2 hours). Serve on fresh hamburger buns with coleslaw. Tip: Make this recipe ahead of time and place in a crock pot on low or warm to serve.
