Artichoke Dip Recipe ... Awesome And Easy! Start Off Your Baby Shower Menu Right!
Loads of friends have passed around this artichoke dip recipe ... ... After many a get-together, the next day we’d receive a call, “Hey, can I get that awesome dip recipe from you guys?” Yes, it’s been a staple for baby shower food menus, many a celebrations and casual gatherings. It can be made with “fat-full”, as we like to call it ;), or “reduced calorie”. You Can make it “fat-free”, but we don’t recommend this, due to loss of some of the natural cheese fat flavors in the grated Parmesan cheese, and also the fat content in the mayonnaise. But ... go with the Happy Medium” use the “low-fat” or “reduced-fat” ingredients if you want a low calorie dip. Tip: If you ever question the flavor of your dip with reduced-fat or fat-free ingredients, just make up a small portion for yourself or test it on your family first, before including it on your baby shower food menu!
Artichoke Dip
A great appetizer to make ahead of time and then pop in the oven (you can microwave as well) just before your guests arrive! Ingredients:- 1 - 15 oz. can of artichokes (drained)
- 1 cup mayonnaise (can substitute with light mayonnaise)
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 small can of green chilies
- ¼ cup chopped tomatoes
- Tomato for garnish (optional)
Stir all ingredients together and place in a greased pie pan or shallow casserole dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.Serve with wheat crackers (wheat thins). Tip: You can also use the marinated artichokes sold in the jars. Drain well (We rinse off the oil for lower fat content). The marinated flavor gives the dip a little zesty taste!
